Prescriptive Tutoring for Developmental Education
Prescriptive Tutoring is tutoring that helps students to learn by following an individually prescribed plan for improvement as determined by the professor for the student. The tutor follows the professor’s prescribed plan and designs tutoring sessions to address weaknesses and build on strengths.
As a professor, you may be able to work with your student after class or during your office hours. Or, you may decide that additional academic support is needed and that a referral to tutoring is necessary for your student to advance in your course. You write a Student Referral for Prescriptive Tutoring and send your student to work with a Prescriptive Tutor.
