Q: What are the options available for parking?
A:There are several options available for students enrolled in classes at Life Sciences Institute at BioPark. In order to take advantage of these options, students must have a student parking permit.
Q: Where are the BioPark Parking Facilities?
A: The BioPark parking locations are as follows:
Parking is available on the street for $1.00 per hour (4 hour maximum).
The BioPark Garage is located at 1 N Poppleton St., Baltimore, MD 21201. Parking is available on the sixth floor or above for student for $2/day with BCCC ID. The garage closes at 10pm.
The Lexington Garage is the UM student parking garage and is located at 660 W. Lexington Street. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. A parking space is not a guarantee.
Lexington Market Roof
Spaces are leased to students to park on the rooftop of the Lexington Market Garage located between Greene and Paca Streets. Parking at this garage costs $33.00 per month and payment must be received in advance. Students are given an access card. Payment for parking is renewed by the first of each month. Payment received by the sixth of the month will be charged a $5.00 late fee. Access cards are turned off on the seventh if payment has not been received. It cost $10.00 to have the access card reactivated.
Other UM Parking Facilities
After 4 p.m. on weekdays, students who have already paid for parking in Lexington Garage may move their vehicle to any other garage (if so desired) without having to pay for parking again. You must keep your payment stub and turn it in at the 2nd garage to avoid paying. Sign your name and permit number on the receipt or ticket from Lexington Garage and give it to the cashier when exiting the 2nd garage. Evening students arriving on campus after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all weekend may park in any facility and pay the student rate of $5.00 when displaying a valid student permit. All students must remove their cars by 9 a.m. or you will be considered a visitor and charged the maximum visitor rate.
PermitsA parking permit is for the academic year and can be purchased on the parking website at www.parking.umaryland.edu, click on students and follow the links. The permit can also be purchased in person at the Parking and Commuter Services office located at 622 W. Fayette Street on the UM campus. Students must display a valid permit when parking in the student garage. Students must show their valid vehicle registration and campus ID or when purchasing a permit in person. Permits cost $5.00 and can be paid by cash, check or credit card. The daily cost to park is $5.00.
