The Business and Continuing Education Division provides an innovative alternative to traditional educational programs of the College. Working cooperatively with outside organizations, BCED creates opportunities for personal growth and professional development for adults in Baltimore City.
Courses and programs are flexible in content and location, cost-effective, and designed to help adults upgrade their skills. Both credit and non-credit courses are available through BCED. Services include customized training, professional development courses, literacy programs, and partnership programs with businesses and government agencies.

Participants of BCED training initiatives include adults seeking preparation for entry–level jobs in industries such as healthcare, information technology telecommunications, and other workforce professions. Such individuals enroll in order to upgrade their skills or meet licensure or certification requirements. During fiscal year 2010, more than 12,000 adults enrolled in BCED training programs.
