College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
NEW REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
CLEP is administered as an internet based test only. This examination is a series of individual tests for various college level courses that provide opportunities to gain college credit for knowledge acquired through independent study. You do not have to be a Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) student to take the tests. The BCCC, Liberty Campus location is an open test center that administers CLEP to the general public. On the day of the test candidates will indicate the college or institutions to which CLEP score reports are to be sent. Each college will evaluate individual score reports to determine whether college credit should be awarded.
CLEP examinations are administered the fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of January, July, August and December.
Registration Information: (Please read carefully)You must bring two forms of identification. The primary form must be a government-issued, valid photo ID with signature, matching exactly the name you used when registering. Listed below are the only acceptable forms of photo identification:
State-issued driver's license
State-issued ID card issued by DMV
The secondary form of ID must have a photo or signature. Listed below are the acceptable forms of secondary identification.
Current Student ID card
Military ID ( Common Access Card)
An unused ID from the primary choices listed above
You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time. Please be prompt. No late arrivals will be admitted.
You will receive a printed copy of your scores (exception-College Composition). Official copies must be requested from the College Board.
You can only register for one test at a time. If you need more than one CLEP exam, you must register for different day/time slots. Multiple tests can not be accommodated at the same time.
All testing fees are non-refundable and non-transferable and test may not be rescheduled.
There are two fees associated with the this test, a test administration fee of $28.00, an exam fee ( fee will be noted during the registration process with the college board)
Two Easy Steps to Registration
Step 1. Create an account with the College Board
In the registration portal you can create and manage your personal account through My Account registration portal. click here to register
Pay the registration fee ( all fees must be paid before arriving to the test center)
Print a copy of your registration ticket to present to the test center on the test day ( you must present this ticket and two forms of Identification to be seated)
Step 2. Schedule Test Date Online
Please schedule one week prior to the testing date
Schedule your date to take the test (enter your voucher/ticket number)
Pay the required administration fee of $25.00

Veterans must pay for exams and may seek reimbursement from the Veterans Administration. CLEP exams are free to eligible military personnel, and eligible civilian employees with proper military ID.(Please visit the CLEP website for updated examination fees).
You may pay by credit card – Visa, MasterCard and Discover – or by bank check card with VISA logo.
CLEP has developed a free tool, the CLEP Sampler, to help you prepare for taking a CLEP test on the computer. It is a CD-ROM that comes with an edition of the Official Study Guide. It can also be downloaded from the College Board website. Detailed descriptions and downloadable study guides for each test are also available. Location of CLEP Examinations: The CLEP examination will be administered at the Liberty Campus, Main Building, Room 4B. Tests will be administered the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. with the exception of January, July, August and December.

It is the responsibility of the student to contact the academic department prior to taking CLEP examinations for suggested credit granting concerns. Credits granted are based on approval from the department chair.
