About Us



The BCCC Library is the center for information resources at the College. Assisted by a dedicated staff, students may explore resources in diverse formats, including books, print and electronic periodicals, reference tools, and indexes. Audiovisual materials such as videotapes, CDs and DVDs are also available. Current holdings include 75,000 volumes with 150 periodical titles in print format. However, most magazines, journals, and newspapers are available in digital form, known as e-journals. Students have access to a catalog of print materials as well as digital access to 25 databases containing articles from 12,500 e-journals.

Students can borrow materials using the BCCC ID card, and will need this card to access most databases through the Library section of BCCC Blackboard website. The BCCC Library offers individual and group instruction on using and evaluating information resources and tools, as well as basic instruction in using computers for completing research and assignments. Training in basic Microsoft Office tasks are offered during each semester and instruction guides can be accessed on the library section of the BCCC website. The BCCC Library is accessible to people with disabilities and contain devices to aid sight-impaired students. Patrons will also find coin-operated copiers and scanners at the library.

The Bard Library at Liberty Campus houses strong collections in allied health, the social sciences, literature, African-American studies and multicultural education. The Bard Library offers students a variety of study spaces, including small group study rooms and areas where audiovisual programs may be accessed.

BCCC Libraries' Mission
Baltimore City Community College Library supports the learning objectives of the institution and provides onsite and remote access to resources, instruction and services that meet the diverse informational needs of our community. The Library provides leadership in fostering information competency, empowers our community to become critical and effective information users, and cooperates with libraries, networks, and consortia in sharing resources to provide maximum access to information. We evaluate library resources and services on a regular and systematic basis and participate in the college’s planning and evaluation process. The Library staff is committed to working together as a team to build a student-centered library in which quality services and student success are primary goals recognized and shared by all staff.
