Substitute Teacher Certificate (260)
The Substitute Teacher Certificate is designed to provide minimum entry-level skills and competencies to meet the substitute teacher's ongoing need for continuing education and professional growth experiences. This certificate provides the 30 credits required by the Baltimore City Public School System.
In addition to enhanced employment opportunities, this certificate offers a first step towards an Associate degree in the Teacher Education Transfer Program. This first-level certification prepares a student to substitute in pre-K and elementary school. Those seeking secondary-level Substitute Teacher Certification must choose an additional six credits from the Program Electives and/or Secondary-level Electives appropriate to their area of secondary specialization.
