Career Paths in the Accounting Profession Presentations

Professor Bryant Elliott Evans, MPA, Associate Dean for Business and Technology and Dr. Jeff Hillard, Accounting Faculty, Business and Technology Department, invite faculty, staff and students to attend the Intermediate Accounting I team’s "Career Paths in the Accounting Profession" presentations. The presentations will take place Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in room 230 of the Main Building.

 Each team will give a 15-minute presentation about a specific type of career in the accounting field. Presentations will include an overview and description of the career, explanation of the education and certification necessary to pursue the career, sample positions and salaries by experience level, entry strategies and a conclusion that includes both advantages and disadvantages of the career path. A short discussion will follow each presentation. 

 The five team presentations scheduled include:

·         Controllership in Business Careers

·         Government Accounting Careers

·         Independent Auditor Careers

·         Tax Accounting Careers

·         Accounting Information Technology Careers
