The new partnership and articulation agreement between BCCC and the University of Baltimore (UB) ensures BCCC students will be able to transfer seamlessly to UB. In this spirit, the institutions announced their agreement Monday, Nov. 21 at a signing ceremony featuring Dr. May and UB President Kurt Schmoke, who brought his UB colleagues to join the BCCC team in the Student Atrium.
As students complete their studies at BCCC, UB’s Bee Line transfer program will assist and provide benefits to those who wish to transfer to UB. The program will allow students to transfer as many as 63 credits, receive transfer scholarships if eligible, and become involved in UB’s Helen P. Denit Honors Program. The program also guarantees admission and waives the UB application fee.
The UB articulation partnership is particularly advantageous to BCCC students because it guarantees their ability to transfer to the University of Baltimore setting within the University of Maryland System, without having to reorder their educational plans or make up lost credits. BCCC students currently represent the second-largest contingent of UB transfer populations from area community colleges – more than 500 students in the
past seven years.
